at 16:00 Tuesday 19/6 - 2012 I did my last drawing, and after a short, but intense briefing to the Norwegian news agency NTB about my thoughts and visions, I packed my gear, went for a beer at Hr Nielsen opposite the Court in Oslo.
A Norwegian Sociologist Professor found his way to the table, and we spent and hour discussing premises and perspectives about The Breivik case. The aftermath looks cloudy. Weather forecast for the political life in Norway is foggy. Surely with drops of rain. Hot aftermath though. Hot like hell.
Regi published a book last week in which he discuss whether or not Breivik is part of a violent Norwegian tradition. What I remember from our delightful rendez vous is blurred and confused. Like wise my thoughts right now, where I am back in Denmark and recovering from another two days of immense speculation about whether or not Breivik is insane.
I can not stress enough how important the trial is for those who care about freedom as well as obligation toward democracy.
Breivik might be a lunatic. A product of the century. What if he is not?
And I am doing my best to give the absurdities I have observed and documented by drawing, talking to people, reflecting and particularly felt a touch of art.
I have made it very difficult for me, by referring to a masters piece of art; The painting by Picasso; Guernica. But I have no worries - if you follow your instincts and are sure, you’ll do the outmost to fullfill your own ambition, at the end, a miracle might happen, a story will be told, by me to those of you who need a second opinion, brought to you in colours - seized 560 x 360.
I’ll be back - but right now I need some rest and in about two days I turn 50.
More than 60 people will celebrate Midsummer together with my family and I.
I am feeling lucky.
